dc.description.abstract The aim of this study is to identify Factors affecting domestic tourist in Lake Tana: monasteries and to use the study's findings to develop strategies for the government and institutions who are working with this sector. Quantitative research approach was applied. Simple random sampling was used to select 385 samples and the questionnaire was distributed to 385respondants 373 questionnaires are collected the rest 12 questionnaires are not collected. . The model used in this study was binary logistic regression model. In this study, economic factors are income, price and infrastructural accessibility while non-economic factors are tourism facilities and service, marketing promotions and attitudinal variables. The findings of the study indicated that income, price, inJrastructural services, tourism facilities, attitudes and marketing promotions are important understanding the challenges and opportunities of domestic tourists in Lake Tana monasteries. The study recommended suggestions that the government and tourism practitioners could follow to maximize the number of local tourists. en_US
