dc.description.abstract	ABSTRACT Monasteries in Ethiopia has made vital role in production and preservation of manuscripts. Even the current period they are the actual witness of existence of manuscripts. Lake Ṭana monasteries are strategic places in preserving these valuable manuscripts. Therefore, ˁura Kidanä Məḥrät is one of among the places rich in collection of manuscripts. The manuscript collections which are found in different monasteries are varries each other in terms of number, theme and categories. In order to preserve and use them properly the work of manuscript catalogue is one a very important discipline in preserving it. As well as it is important helps to explore different ideas and contemporary information in the manuscripts. Therefore, Manuscript cataloging is very important not only to explore knowledge but also helps in preservation and avoids lost in parts of the manuscript. This paper deals with catalogue of hagiographical manuscripts that are the vita and miracle of saints and martyrs in the archive of the monastery of ˁura Kidanä Məḥrät. These manuscripts have different state of existence. The paper is organized with five chapters that are introduction, review of related literature, methodology, catalogues of manuscripts [analysis], summary, and recommendation. On the work of cataloging of these manuscripts twenty-two hagiographical, those are vitas and miracles of saints and martyrs used. In this project as per in conducting this thesis obviously helped to aware on how the condition of the manuscripts existed or preserved. Key words: Cataloguing, Manuscript, hagiography	en_US
