Abstract:
The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of perceived organizational support on employee job performance with employee job satisfaction as mediation. To achieve the objective of the study, used questionnaires were adapted from Eisenberger et al. (1997) for perceived organizational support, Paul E. Spector (1994) for job satisfaction and Goodman & Svyantek (1999) for employee job performance. Explanatory research design was used to analyze the relationship between variables and effect of the study variables. Stratified random sampling technique was used to collect data from two strata of each floriculture industry. Based on valid data collected from 224 employees of floriculture industry, the overall analysis result of the study indicated that the Pearson correlation coefficients of perceived organizational support and job satisfaction were positively and strongly related with employee job performance the value of 0.649 and 0.783 respectively and also perceived organizational support had positive and strong relation with job satisfaction (0.840), all are significant p-value (p<0.01). The regression result of the study indicated that perceived organizational support has positive strong significant effect on employee job performance and job satisfaction.. Similarly, employee job satisfaction has positive strong significant effect on employee job performance. With regard to the mediating role of employee job satisfaction in the effect of perceived organizational support on employee job performance, the results showed that employee job satisfaction has a fully mediating role on the direct effect of perceived organizational support on employee job performance. The overall implication of the study result is that since perceived organizational support has positive effect on employee job performance, and the effect is fully mediated by employee job satisfaction; it shows employer care about their employee wellbeing & employee understands their organization contribution to their work life, and increase positive felling of their employee about their job & their organization can increase their job performance. In addition the indirect effect of perceived organizational support on employee performance has better result through employee job satisfaction. Based on this organization owner must be think about the improvement of their employee satisfaction through continuous evaluation.
