Abstract:
In a competitive world, human resource is very essential in making the organization to achieve its vision, mission, and goals. Commitment of employees can be an important instrument for improving the performance of organizations because, committed employees lead to higher performance and productivity. The main purpose of this research was to look at the effect of organizational culture on employee commitment in the Ministry of Revenue at Bahir Dar branch office. A total sample size of 159 was chosen using a proportionate, stratified random sampling approach. The researcher used quantitative research approach and explanatory research design to conduct this study and to test the various hypotheses, descriptive, cross-sectional and regression analysis were used. The data for this study was collected utilizing two distinct Standardized close ended questionnaires.
Based on the data analysis at the time of the study the following outcomes were proved: There were relatively low organization’s employees commitment on their job, there were innovative and risk taking and attention to details, outcome orientation, people orientation, team orientation, aggressive and stability cultures have a strong and positive effect organizational culture dimensions on employee’s commitment and have a direct positive relationship between organization culture and employee commitment.
Therefore, the outcome of the research suggests that seven organizational culture dimensions are the most important element in controlling the direction of the organizational commitment.
