Abstract:
The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between social capital and
organizational affective commitment among employees of the Commercial bank of Ethiopia
Bahir Dar city branches. A total of 194 employees participated in the study and the data’s were
analyzed using descriptive analysis, pearson correlation and multiple linear regression. The
results show that there is a positive significant relationship between structural social capital and
organizational affective commitment with a p-value of p<0.01 and unstandardized coefficient of
0.332, relational social capital and organizational affective commitment with a p-value of
p<0.01 and unstandardized coefficient of 0.486 and cognitive social capital and organizational
affective commitment with a p-value of p<0.01 and unstandardized coefficient of 0.453. So the
researcher concludes that there is a positive significant relationship between social capital and
organizational affective commitment in commercial bank of Ethiopia Bahir Dar branches.
