Plastic waste, which is increasing day by day, becomes eyesore and in turn pollutes the environment, especially in villages where no garbage collection system exists. Plastic is a nonbio-degradable substance which takes thousands of years to decompose and hence creating land pollution as well as water pollution. Taking into account the increase of pollution new concept of eco bricks has been introduced. Eco bricks are also knows as bottle bricks .These bricks are manufactured by using the non-bio-degradable wastes such as plastic bottles, plastic bags and other non-bio-degradable substances. The research demonstrates that it is possible to solve major problems in the construction replacement of Hcb with a new ecological building material which is manufacturing of bricks by using plastic and Styrofoam wastes by mixing with sand. The study presented in this paper is finalized with the development of new building materials which is ecological building material. Hence, these waste plastics and Styrofoam‟s are to be effectively utilized. Plastic wastes and Styrofoam‟s are cleaned and added with sand at various ratios to obtain high strength bricks that possess thermal and sound insulation properties to control pollution and to reduce the overall cost of construction; this is one of the best ways to avoid the accumulation of plastic waste which is a non-bio-degradable pollutant. This alternatively saves the quanta of sand/clay that has to be taken away from the precious river beds/mines. Finally the output of this project is to develop a new cost effective, a resource conserved, time and space saving and strong with quality and other strength parameters product which is the Pss product. |
