dc.description.abstract The generation of colored wastewater is one of the main Environmental problem of textile industries. These environmental problems draw attention to residual reactive dyeeffluent discoloration. Based on this idea focusing the environmental issue and economic point of view, the use of low cost and eco-friendly coagulant has been investigated as an alternative to the current expensive methods of removing reactive dyes from textile dye effluent. The objective of this study is to explore the capacity of the active agent that extracted from Moringa Oleifera by various solutions fordecolorization of reactive dyes from textile dyeeffluent. The extracted active agent was also characterized based on its functional group analysis using FTIR. The solutions of NaCl, KCl and distilled water were used as the active agent extraction. Experiments have been performed using jar tests apparatus by varying some operating parameters such as coagulant dose, pH, and mixing time in order to study their effect as well as optimum condition on coagulation. In this paper, the maximum dye decolorization (92 %) was achieved at pH 6, coagulant dose 9g/l, and 45 minutes of mixing time.At these optimum conditions 90% and 86 % reduction for turbidity and COD were obtained respectively. Hence, it is recommended to useMoringa Oleifera as coagulant since the overall result shows that the coagulant is effective for removal of color, COD and turbidity from textile reactive dye effluent. en_US
