Crating an awareness of the issue is essential to provide the victims an adequate help or to follow proper intervention methods. To fill this gap, a phenomenological study hasbeen conducted based on the lived experience of 20 parents (12 mothers and 8 fathers) those experienced CPA in kirkos sub city of Addis Ababa. Reporting the abuse to the police is a last way after having dealt for a long time. Alcohol and khataddiction, economic dependency, unemployment, patriarchalthinking experience of abuse in the family, negative peer and media influence as major causes of CPA.
