Abstract:
This s/11c~1· is tried lo indcntify [actors aUecti11g disabled school goi11g students'
_parlicipatio11 i11 physical education program and extracurricuiar sport activities in
some selected primary and secondary schools located in Bahir Dar town. Even if the
participation ill PE has health, social, psychological and economical benefit for
disabled students. tire participation of students with disabilities in PE at school is ve1y
low. As a result. tire studv is designed to identifyfactors, opportunities, disabled and
non-disabled students· altitude. attitude and support of school communities and PE
teachers, and school facilities impact on disabled students' participation in PE at
school. By using both quantitative and qualitative research design approach and
persuasive sampling technique. 94 disabled students. 11 PE teachers and 8 school
principal from 6 primary and 2 secondary schools included in the sample. Students
and Teachers were inquired through both structured and semi structured
questionnaires and school principals 1vere inquired through using structured and
. emi-structured interview question. Moreover, field observation using checklists

questions ~~·as administered in same selected schools. The data obtained through these
tools were analyzed quantitatively and qualiuuively. Quantitative analysis has made
