dc.description.abstract The=purpose of this study was to examine the effect of skill-related physical fitness training on players' performance. Players' difference in performance and fulfillment of positional requirements was also assessed in the case of North Shoa Debere Birhan Kenema Super League Male Football Club (NSDBKSLMC). All 2) players s 7 committee members and a coach were included in the study. Quasi experimental design was employed. Data was collected through field-test, interview and document analysis. The data gathered through field-tests were analyzed by using quantitative methods such as descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation), t-test and one-way ANO VA followed by Tukey post-hoc test. Qualitative data gathered through interview and document analysis were analyzed thematically using descriptive statements. The skill-related physical fitness training of the club has significant effect only on the two components of skill related physical fitness (coordination and reaction time) but has no significant impact oil the rest four components (agility, balance, speed and power). Exercises designed and implemented in the training program lack relevance to the development of players' skill related physical fitness. There were significant differences among different position players in four components-of skill related physical fitness - agility, speed, power and xeaction time, but no significant differences were observed in balance and coordination. Differences were also observed within the same position players on the six components of skill related physical fitness. Different position players fulfilled some 'positional requirements and failed to full fill some other positional requirements. There Was. knowledge performance. There are significant differences between and within different position players in skill related physical fitness and majority of the players do not fulfill positional requirements. 1gap on both the coach and the players in identifying the relative importance of different skill related physical fitness components to different playing position and in accomplishing the required type and level of training exercise to develop the skill-related physical fitness of players. The result of the present study suggest that the skill related physical fitness of the club lacks relevance and have low impact on players " ABSTRACT VIII en_US
