Abstract:
Students and teachers have a range of attitudes towards physical education and how it affects
students and teachers and their learning. Past research has indicated that physical education can
influence academic results as well as physical developments of students and teachers. The
teachers' attitude, and to identify factors which affect the level of their attitude towards
physical education program. The study aimed also to assess the level of students' and
purpose of this study is to investigate the attitude of students' and teachers' towards
physical Education program. Jn order to meet the above mentioned objectives, the
study used the survey methods. The subjects of this study were students and teachers in
Ginbot 20 and Debre work preparatory secondary schools in east Gojjam Zone. The
population of the study was 184.From this, 154 students and 30 teachers were selected
to participate in the study by applying systematic random, cluster sampling and
purposive sampling techniques. The data for the study were collected using 5-point
likert scales. Closed-ended and open-ended items questionnaires and focus group
discussion were used to collect t~e relevant data. The questionnaires were self-made
and qdapt from Tszkin (1997), Taylor (2012) and Ejigayehu (2013). The collected data
were analyzed in tabulated with quantitatively with descriptive statistics/mean and

schools students' attitude level towards Physical education program score mean and

standard deviation was (M = 30.8442, SD= 4.06022),and teachers' attitudes level
towards physical education program score(M=32.1333±2.50149. This indicated that
attitudes level of students' and teachers' towards Physical education program was
