The purpose of this study was to find out investigate assess and evaluate the effectiveness
o.f physical education curriculum on second cycle in Am hara region west gojjam zone. To
perform this research the researcher used the following basic questions. Does the period
allotment affect on the teaching -Iearning process? What does it looks like the content
vertical integration from grade 9 to I 2? And how the lack of educational media affects on
practical physical education sessions. In order to get result the researcher used
questionnaire, interview and document Analysis methods to collect data. To analyze the
collected data percentage were applied. From the research the results of the study mainly
shows that the study mainly shows that the weekly period allotment for physical
education sessions is unbalanced to cover the content in the academic year, Both the
- vertical integration of PE & the availability of educational media for secondary schools
is "medium.". Therefore unless they give yearly content of the text is not balanced to that
of period allotment it causes a great problem on teachers & students to cover the portion
of the text book. Secondly skill of "studenis can develop when there is adequate
iducational media for practical sessions. But now we teach our students with a few
~ educational media for instance one Basketball Ball is used for not less than ten students
in a given one periad. Thirdly concerned revise from year to year, If not the less
curriculum revision 'the less updated & the less improvement of student's practical&
bodies like Minsiry of Education, Educational Buerea, Educational offices & school
. administrative shoucd have to work hard to eliminate the problems .
