Since there is nothing in the universe that moves more quickly than light, Visible Light Communication (VLC) opens the door of extremely fast communication by using light to convey data. VLC system is a breakthrough technological advance in optical wireless transmission system. VLC uses Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) as a source to provide white light and carry the information through free space besides illumination. Achieving data in the form of Gb/s with long distance transmission by considering background noises is critical in VLC. There are different techniques to meet the data rate requirements, such as Multi-Channel Multi-Beam (MC-MB), Forward Error Correction (FEC), and digital modulation schemes like Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM). This research work focuses on the design and analysis of Gigabit Class VLC based MCMB with QAM and Reed Solomon (RS) coding with background noises for Direct Line of Sight (DLOS), Non-Direct Line of Sight (NDLOS), and Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) VLC channel models. MC is demonstrated using RGBY-LEDs to have high-capacity data. RS is used to reduce errors due to the background noises and the free space channel. QAM is used for symbol generation with its higher spectral efficiency, efficient bandwidth and robustness to interference and noise. Background noises such as green, ultraviolet, white, flashlight, spectrum, red, blue, and yellow light sources have been added to the channel. To analyze the proposed model, an overall communication system is designed and simulated with Optisystem software. Performance metrics such as received optical and electrical power versus distance, Field of View (FOV), Transmitter Half Angle (THA), Photodetector area, BER versus distance, FOV and THA have been analyzed. Using the designed system, simulation results showed that MC-MB (4x4) DLOS is 23% at 45o FOV, 16% at 60o THA and 24% at 1cm2 PD area better than NDLOS in terms of received optical power respectively. Further, in a NLOS, SC Single reflection system is 160.28% at 45o FOV, 159.7% at 60o THA, and 161.7% at 1cm2 PD area better performance than SC multiple reflections system at 28m respectively unlike in DLOS and NDLOS.
