dc.description.abstract Lack of drinking water quality, sanitation and hygienic practices are important problems in Ethiopia. The purpose of this study was to assess the physiochemical, heavy metal & microbiological quality of drinking water supplied to Addis Ababa city from Yeka, Legedadi, Gefersa, Mickililand, Akaki, Saris Abo & and Akaki city1 reservoirs and with their respective household water supplied from these reservoir sources. A cross-sectional study was conducted from August 2015 to September 2016 E.C. Seven sampling locations were selected to evaluate the drinking water quality parameters such as total dissolved solids, fluoride, pH values, chloride, copper, zinc, lead, iron, magnesium, manganese, chromium, cadmium, nitrate, total plate count, coliform, & E.coli. The generated outcome of the drinking water quality parameters at the reservoirs sites the concentration of fluoride, TDS, pH, copper, zinc, lead, iron, manganese, magnesium, chromium, cadmium, total plate count, coliform & E.coli the majority of them were within the drinking water standard limit, whereas, the quality parameters for the household water samples, the concentration of total plate count, coliform & E.coli were above the limit established by Ethiopian standard. Hence, it can be concluded that household water sources supplied from reservoirs were vulnerable to pollution. Key words: Households, Microbial, Physiochemical Parameters, Reservoirs, Water Quality. en_US
