Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigating the effect of calisthenics exercise on some selected
health related physical fitness variables of Tagel general secondary and preparatory school
grade twelve male students. Experimental research design was employed. To achieve the
purpose of the study 40 students were selected randomly. The age of the student range from 17-
20 years. The participants were also grouped into experimental (n=20), and control group
(n=20) randomly. The experimental groups engaged in training for three days a week but the
control group did not perform special training. The selected physical fitness variables were
muscular endurance, strength, and flexibility tested in the study before and after the treatment.
SPSS software (version 20) was used for analysis. Mean, SD, AND t-test was employed to
analyze the collected data. The significant level of p ≤ 0.05 compare to the post-test result means
the difference between the groups. The result showed after 12 weeks calisthenics training had
significantly improve the selected health related physical fitness variables. The result conclude
that the calisthenics training methods showed better improvement than the control group on the
Generally, the present study concluded that calisthenics exercise training had a significant effect
on student’s muscular endurance, flexibility and body composition but not cardiovascular
endurance. Selected physical fitness variables because of the 12 weeks training program.
