dc.description.abstract Despite the availability of flexible work arrangements in private banks in Ethiopia, staff performance in terms of customer satisfaction, job happiness, employee turnover, and customer satisfaction continues to be disappointing. The main objective of this study was to examine the effect of flexible working arrangement on employee performance in case of private bank Share Company in Bahir Dar. The researcher identifies five key flexible working arrangement dimensions as independent variable these are work shift, flextime, flexi place (telework), temporary contract working, and part time working. The researcher used both quantitative and qualitative approach. Quantitative approach was used to show the cause and effect relationship between the dependent and independent variables and qualitative research approach was used to analyze open ended questions. Hypothesis also developed to provide the research direction and focusing area. The researcher used primary data through questionnaire from 250 respondents from three sampled private banks. To collect data from the respondents of the case banks stratified sampling was used. Data analyzed by using descriptive statistics including means, and standard deviation and inferential statistics to analyze and interpret the gathered data. Data was analyzed by the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26. Pearson’s Correlation test statistics were applied for testing the relationship between dependent and independent variable. Inferential statistical tools like multiple linear regression was used. Regression model was applied to show the effect of flexible working arrangement on employee performance. The data were filled using the Five Point Likert Scale while the Cronbach Alpha was used to check the data reliability. The main findings indicate that, work shift, flextime, flexi place, temporary contract and part time has statistically significant effect on employee performance. Work shif is the most powerful significant variable that have greater regression coefficient than others. The researcher concluded that flexible working arrangement practice significantly contributes to employee performance on private banks in Bahir Dar. en_US
