Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate a comparative study on the effect of 12-week recreational football and basketball intervention on health-related physical fitness components in the case of Fogera secondary school-selected male students. The study design was an Experimental method. The study participants were identified and divided by Systematic random sampling and randomization table methods were used to select the subjects. The total sample sizes of the study were (n=40). (n=14) experimental football group, (n=6) experimental basketball group, and (n=20) control group. The sample studies of their age range were from 17-22 years. The mean of each group relatively had the same age, height, and weight. In the experimental group both types of ball game training programs were performed in respectively three days per week for three months and 1 hour per session, the control group did not perform them. Both groups were under a gone normal training program that had taken pre and post-testing. Quantitative data were collected through the appropriate health-related Physical fitness test measures such as 12 minute Run test for CRE, 60 seconds sit-up test for ME, a wall-sits test for MS, sit and reach test for FLX, and a skinfold caliper test for BCO. After 3month to measure the same parameter was taken. The data collected from the study subject was analyzed using SPSS software by Paird sample t-test to determine paird difference. ANOVA, LSD post-Hok and descriptive statistics pre and post-test were expressed of mean, standard deviation, at the level of significance to determine the difference between experimental and control groups. The results showed there was no significant (p˃0.05) difference between compared Experimental with control groups of muscular endurance and body composition whereas muscular strength, flexibility, and cardiorespiratory endurance (p˂0.05) a significant difference. Based on the study finding, it can be concluded that twelve weeks of recreational Football and basketball game has a progressive and significant effect on the improvement of health-related physical fitness variables of the participant. Hence, this kind of recreational game treated and facilitated by school PE teachers and administrators suggested to better improvement students for healthy physical quality
