The objective of this study was to explore educational support for SWVD in the case of
Deberework Primary School. A qualitative research approach especially case study was applied to
do this research. To collect the data, the researcher used both interview and observation data

teachers, and SWVD were the main participants. Eighteen participants were selected by using
purposive and available sampling techniques. The data were analyzed by the thematic analysis
method. The findings revealed that there was inadequacy and a shortage of educational support for
SWVD. Required teaching learning resources, and equipment were absent or not functional in the
library. SWVD was not very well supported in terms of mobility, orientation, guidance, and
counselling services. The school was not currently equipped with different and relevant tactile
teaching aids. The assessment and evaluation techniques were not adapted for SWVD. Teachers did
not use appropriate teaching methods and there were a lot of uncomfortable features in the
compound for SWVD. The school assessment technique was not adapted to fulfil the needs of
SWVD during the teaching-learning process and exam time. Besides, teachers were not using
various, appropriate, concrete teaching aids and teaching methods to support SWVD and address
the needs of SWVD in the school. The perceptions of SWVD about the school provided educational
support were not interesting. The school assessment technique was not adapted to full fill the needs
of SWVD during the teaching learning process and exam time. Most of the essential teaching
learning resources were not available. Therefore, the concerned body should fulfil the needs of
SWVD, address the required teaching learning resources, provide training for teachers and
students and make the school environment suitable for SWVD for support.
