Abstract:

Methods:-Community-based cross-sectional study from April 15 to 30/2018 was conducted. Multi stage systematic sampling method was employed to select samples of 735 women. Data were collected using a, pretested structured and a face-to-face interviewer-administered questionnaire. I entered data in to Epi Info version 7 and analyzed them by SPSS version 20 software. Odds ratios and a 95% CI at 0 < 0.05 p-values were calculated to ascertain the significance of associations.
Result: - The proportion of women who vaccinated TT at least once from the total respondents were about 52.5% but the proportion of respondents who vaccinated TT2+ were only 90( 12.2%).
The study also showed that education( able to read and write AOR=4.023; 95% CI(2.567,6.304 and p- value=<0.001),primary AOR=2.320(95% CI(1.509-3.566 p- value=<0.001 ) secondary and above AOR=2.735 95% CI(1.283-5.833 p- value= 0.009); Income( 1000-2000 Birr AOR=8.207, 95% CI( 5.115-13.17 and p-value <0.001) >2000 Birr AOR= 17.55 95% CI( 10.697-28.792 P-value= <0.001), transportation access AOR= 4.017with 95% CI( 2.639, 6.114, p- value= <0.001) and age of mothers > 30 Years AOR=1.962 with 95% CI ( 1.283-2.999 p- value=0.002) are factors significantly associated with TT vaccine utilization in multivariable analysis.
Conclusion: - The study showed that there was poor TT vaccination uptake among reproductive age group women in the study area.
Recommendation: - Debark District Health Office and all concerned bodies should work hard to improve TT vaccination coverage among reproductive age women in the study area.
