Abstract:
Background: Nurse to patient communication refers to the exchange or sharing of any information
regarding to patients by means of verbal (speech), or nonverbal form. Poor nurse-patient
communication may result in patient complication, an increased length of stay, wastage of the
resource use, dissatisfaction with care, lack of confidence or uncertainty and frustration for both the
nurse and the patient. So, Determining of the magnitude of nurse-patient communication and
associated factors is necessary for designing interventions. However, it is the least investigated area in
the field of nursing research and factors were not addressed in Ethiopia
