Abstract:
Back ground: Healthcare facilities are producing wastes which have potential negatively to
affect health care workers, the public and the environment if they are not properly managed due
to its hazardous nature. Updating data on estimating healthcare wastes generation rate and
describing its management practices are important for taking corrective action. Although, there
are few studies conducted on healthcare wastes generation rate and management practices in
Ethiopia they are only included urban health centers and does not considered seasonal variation
so this study considered both rural and urban health centers and seasonal variation.
