Abstract:
Background: Postpartum depression (PPD) is a mood disorder that affects women after child birth. Mothers with postpartum depression experience feeling of extreme sadness, anxiety, change in energy, sleep and appetite. PPD accounts 28% of maternal death and become the most common cause of disability by the year 2020. Even though PPD is the health problem of the mothers, emphasis given to antenatal health than postnatal health and physical health than mental health of the mother and the presence of variation in prevalence and associated factors across different communities of Ethiopia. There for this study was aimed to full fill such gaps.
