Abstract:
Back ground: Kangaroo mother care (KMC) is one of the few health practices that was developed in low income countries and transferred to high income ones, significantly reduces mortality associated with low birth weight and prematurity. Even though, the prevalence of kangaroo mother care practice is very low in Ethiopia there are scarce evidences that shows the associated factors which makes the intervention low. Evidence on community-based KMC is limited in Ethiopia. Thus, this study intended to assess the prevalence of kangaroo mother care practice and associated factors at home, among mothers who gave low birth weight babies.
