Abstract:
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the problems that affect the relationship
among coaches and players. The study was conducted in Amhara National League football
clubs in Amhara region. The participants in this research were consisted of 40 players
from four clubs (each club has participate I 0 players) and 8 coaches from 4 clubs (one
head coach and one Assistance Coach from each club) and they were selected on random
sample basis. The major instruments used in this study were questionnaire, interview, and
field observation. The questionnaires were administered for players and coaches
separately. To consolidate the information obtained from the questionnaire, semi
structured interview was conducted with coaches in each clubs and the captains of the
team and field observation was used to get insight that respect, trust and like their coaches
even if they face communication, leadership and coaching styles limits. In conclusion, the
study showed that there was no positive relationship among coaches and players. It should
have a great impact on coaches give service training programs to apply cooperative
coaching styles, improve communication skill and cooperative leadership contribute for
positive relationships in the club.
