dc.description.abstract The success or failure of any business as matter of fact depends largely on its employees. Thus human resources are very essential to the organization as they are the key to prosperity, productivity and performance. How employees are perceived, treated and how they feel about themselves and ultimately their output directly or indirectly has an impact on their performance and development of the organization. De motivated employees under no circumstance will churn out and decrease performance. The purpose of this study was to have better understanding on the relationship between motivational measures and employees performance in Bahir Dar private banks. The dependent variable in this study is employees’ performance. The independent variable is motivational measures namely training, empowerment, non-financial compensation, financial compensation and working environment. The research approach that was applied for this study is the quantitative approach in mature. The target population of this study was employees of Bahir Dar private banks. From 250 total populations of the 14 private banks 154 employees were selected as the sample of the study. The stratified sampling method were used to select the respondents. The standardized questionnaires on motivational measures and employees performance were adapted and modified from previous studies. To undertake the study questionnaires were distributed to 154 employees but 140 responses were returned and ready for analysis. Correlation and multiple linear regressions were used to analyze the gathered data. And the result of the study indicated that motivational measures namely training, empowerment, non-financial compensation, financial compensation and working environment has positive and significant relationship with employees performance. en_US
