mangers: The case of Commercial Banks in Bahir Dar city. The demographic information of
employees was independent variables and attitudes towards female mangers was the dependent
variable of the study. A total sample of 238 employees was selected by employing probability
random sampling method. Enumerator administered schedule that has three sections was
distributed to all the selected employees to collect the necessary primary data. Stratified sampling
technique was used at the time of data collection. However, only 220 employees responded
genuinely and hence, the response rate was 92.43 percent. Descriptive and inferential statistical
tools such as; frequency tables, percentages, means, standard deviations, multiple regression
analysis and independent sample t test were used to data analysis. The value of adjusted R Square
obtained was 0.66, demonstrates that 66 percent of attitude towards women managers variation
can be explained by the independent variables. While, the remaining 34 percent variation attitude
level is influenced by another factors not examined in this study. Based on the statistical analysis,
the variables gender and direct experience are leading factors influencing the attitude towards
women managers, as first and second respectively. Overall, the researcher found that gender, age,
education level, and direct experience working with female managers has strong influence on the
dependent variable attitude towards women managers. However, no significant influence on
attitude towards women managers were found on the basis of marital status of the employees.
