dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of quality of work life dimensions, Safe and healthy working conditions, Adequate income and fair compensation, Opportunities for career growth and development, Opportunities to use and develop human capacities, social integration and Constitutionalism on organizational commitment in Bahir Dar Textile share company. Based on a review of the literature, the majority of the studies had showed a positive effect between quality of work life and organizational commitment. This study was executed on Bahir Dar Textile share company. The study was directed by research objectives which pursued answers for the effect of quality of work life on organizational commitment The research objectives were: to examine each quality of work life parameters that have an effect on organizational commitment, to find out which quality of work life parameter has a great effect on organizational commitment. The study employed an explanatory research design to find the relationship between quality of work life and organizational commitment. The population of the study is 1341 and Stratified random sampling was used to sample 277 respondents who represented the total population of the study area with a 90.5 % confidence level. In the study a quantitative approach was used and data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Data were analyzed using descriptive, correlation, and regression analysis. The results showed that quality of work life dimensions, Safe and healthy working conditions, Adequate income and fair compensation, Opportunities for career growth and development, Opportunities to use and develop human capacities, Constitutionalism and Social integration tend to contribute positively and significantly in determining organizational commitment. The detailed findings are discussed in the study along with appropriate recommendations for organizations and researchers. en_US
