Abstract:
This study was investigated the development of women’s cultural shoe in micro
small enterprises. The study examines the customer’s satisfaction in the Sefi
Agare culture shoe production of Bahir dar MSEs. This research was mostly
undertaken to produce a prototype of women’s culture shoe with quality product,
comfort, and affordable price. The specific objectives were to assess the existing
products of Sefi Agar MSE; design and modify women cultural shoe; develop a
product from selected designs; and test the market acceptance of the newly
developed products. Among 203 populations 48 female fashion students were
selected randomly and participated in the study. The data were gathered using
questionnaire, interview, and observation. The collected data were analyzed using
both qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods. The results of the study
show that most of the participants were interested in the newly designed women’s
cultural shoe. The results of the study revealed that Sefi Agare culture shoe
production Micro and Small Scale Enterprise found in Bahir Dar shown good
loyalty to their customers by keeping and modifying their products. However, as
the results of the study discovered this small scale enterprise had production
problems related to quality service which is not expected from MSE cultural shoe
manufactures. The reasons behind these low quality products were due to lack of
modern technology. Based on the results of the study it is concluded that Sefi
Agare culture shoe production Micro and Small Scale Enterprise need to get
adequate training on leather production with the help of Amhara region small micro
enterprise office. In addition, they should reproduce and sell the newly developed
women’s shoe because the shoe is better in quality, durability, comfort, customer
satisfaction.
