Abstract:
This study was conducted on the research topic ″The effect of chaining and shaping teaching methods in developing the students’ football skills of dribbling, passing and shooting. To undertake it an experimental study method quantitative study design were employed. Through random sampling technique, 20 male and 20 female 40 students were chosen. Those 40 students were divided in to groups of ″A″ and ″ B″ to intervene chaining and shaping methods of teaching through lottery technique. The two methods were intervened for 12 weeks the pre-test, intervention (three times assessment of the three skills with four weeks interval) and post-test. Both groups participated in the typical 1 classes of 40-minute Physical education per week in schools, but the two groups participated in additional 3 sessions per week of 60 minutes per session of exercise training, which comprised as football dribbling, passing, and shooting. Both groups had taken pre and post-testing and all the subjects participated in football skill tests: dribbling was measured using zigzag (time), passing was measured using accuracy and target (out of 5 balls) and shooting was using target (out of 5 balls). The data collected from the study subject was analyzed using SPSS version 20 software by independent t-test with level of significant 0.05.The result showedThe P-value teaching dribbling, passing and shooting were less than my level of significance which is 0.05 the values in both skills were 0.00.
So that if P-value =0.00< 0.05. Between the pre and post test results within the group (A; B) and via the two groups (A and B). Then the analyzed data was discussed and reached at a summary of finding. The study found that change in teaching methodology has an effect in developing the students’ football skills of dribbling, passing and shooting. Although intervening either chaining or shaping method has a positive effect for football skills, chaining method was found to be more positive effect than shaping.
