dc.description.abstract Ethiopian Ministry of Education has designed different types of curriculum from elementary to higher educational level, and policies how students should be evaluated for best grade score and or to produce skilled human resources however, the teachers evaluation system does not yet fully address the policies. The primary purpose of the study was to assess challenges that affect the implementation of physical education PCA Feresbet secondary and preparatory school ofDegaDamotWoreda .From the study area Feresbet secondary and preparatory school was selected using purposive sampling technique. Thirteen physical education teachers ,one hundred thirty nine students and five school principals were selected from feresbet secondary and preparatory school as a respondents. Simple random sampling technique which is lottery method was employed to select students from the sample school. This study was a descriptive survey research design utilized both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data were collected through questionnaires, interview, observation and document analysis. SPSS version 20 software was used for data analysis. The data collected from those tools were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The quantitatively using percentage in tables and qualitatively the analysis was made in words. The results indicated that implementation of PCA in physical education in the sample school has not fully practiced, because of the following major challenges ;a)shortage of instructional materials and necessary facilities b)lack of knowledge and skill of teachers about PCA c) lack of professional support and continuous follow up from the concerned bodies d)shortage of time and overload. To overcome these challenges the following recommendation have been forwarded. These are, providing sufficient materials and facilities, providing continuous professional support and training for physical education teachers and students about PCA implementation, and the concerned bodies should be allotted enough time for physical education practical classes. en_US
