Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of twelve weeks handball skill training on
female under seventeen Handball project performances at Dessie town. Quasi-Experiment
research design was used for this study. Twenty female trainees with age range between 1517years
were participates for the training program(3days per week for 60 to 120 minute tree
days per week for three months with low to moderate intensity).The test items included speed
shooting with right and left hands from 9m and 20m slalom speed dribbling tests. The data
collected were analyzed using SPSS version 21 to test the hypotheses at 0.05 alpha levels. The
data of the study were subjected to descriptive statistic of Mean and Standard deviation then a
further analysis using paired t-test was used to analyze differences between pre test and post test
results of the trainees. The result indicated that there was significant difference between pre test
and post test of each handball skill variables test included speed shooting with right and left
hands and 20m slalom speed dribbling tests. Thus the recommendations for addressing the issue
include trainees should increase training program more than two days per week& above
12weeks continuous training to be more beneficial from training.
