dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to find out the Effect of plyometric training on selected physical fitness components and skill performances of male football players in Addis Zemen Wuha Limat football project. To achieve the purpose of the study all 24 players of the project participated on the research as experimental and control group by use simple random sampling method. The study was focused on experimental study with in 12 week plyometric training. Experimental group (n=12) performed plyometric training was done 3 days per week from 40-60 minutes per session on squat jump, zigzag hop, lateral bounding and split jump and control group (n=12) however, did not perform this plyometric training, both groups undergone normal football training program. The selected fitness and skill variables were strength, agility, dribbling, receiving and passing. Test was taken from the participant at pre and post training programs. Before the training program pretest were taken for each variable and at the end of the training also post-test was taken from the participant. Raw data was statically analyzed by use paired sample T test SPSS version 22.was used to find out the significance difference (P< 0.05) pre training and post training results of each variable. After analysis the pre-post mean difference of each variable the experimental group improved significantly. This was due to effect of plyometric training there were engaged in. Hence, plyometric training is effective and beneficial for the improvement of football players on some selected physical fitness component and skill performance.
