dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT The purpose of the study was to assess practices and challenges of sport management committee and professionals for the development of U-17 football plays’ in south Gondar zone. A total of 125 respondents selected to participate in the study as the source of data by using simple random sampling method and comprehensive sampling methods, The data collected through questionnaire from sport management committee/professional and U-17 football project trainees and interview from sport expansion and development coordinators and U-17 football project coaches and observation method from the list of sampling frame of wereda and city administrations which was selected by using simple random sampling methods. Design of the study was Cross sectional survey study. The data collected were organized, analyzed and interpreted by using descriptive statics, correlation, multiple regression and narrative distributions. The findings indicated that the practices of human resource, budget and facility and materials 13.1% affect on the development of U-17 football project players. Consequently, it was concluded that the practices of human resource, budget and facilities and materials were affected the development of U-17 football project player in south Gondar zone. Thus, it was recommended that south Gondar zone wereda and city administrations sport management committee and professionals should work co-ordinately with sport office leaders, coaches and parents by enhancing the development of U-17 football project players in south Gondar zone. en_US
