The purpose of this study was to determine level of UCa/Cr ratio and the possibility of
/ estimating the amount of calcium intake by determining urinary excretion of calcium in primary
school children of Arnuma, Bcnishcngul Gurnuz, Ethiopia. This study was conducted on 25

all children and were analyzed for calcium and crearinine ratio which were estimated by AAS
und.alknline picrate method; respectively. It was observed that UCaiCr ratio in population was
vary with age and sc)t.,/fvhich decreases with increasing age, thus an inverse re!at ionship was
observed. The mean values lbr t!Ca/Cr ratio were 0.10.±0.03. This value was 0.077(0.0 I) for
females and 0.023(0.020) for males. This study showed the amount of calcium intake was low in
