Abstract:
~ Differemiat pulse voltammetric method using carbon paste electrode was developed for the
"cietermination of tinidazole in pharmaceutical tablets. Cyclic voltammetric investigation of
tinidozole ,al a carbon paste electrode in the potential rangt? 0 to -700 mV showed an irreversible
reduction .<d. tinidazole. After the optimization of' solution and method parameters, a linear
dependence of peak c~rrent on the concentration of tinidazole was observed in the concentration
range ofS x UT6-2 x 10;.._ Furthermore, a detection limit (LODj o/5:058 «ur' ;\1 and limit of
quantiftcauon (LOQ) of i.'686 x I o·6 M were colculated. The developed method was usedfor the
determination of tinidazo!e in pharmaceutical table! samples of three brads. 111e method was
also used recove1y studies of spiked tinidazole in pharmaceutical tablet samples. Recoveries in
the ranse o/75.89-95.44% indicated the potential applicability of the developed method for the
determination of tinidazole in real sampler .
