dc.description.abstract Pelvic organ prolapse is a significant public health problem in Ethiopia. The aim of this study is to identify the determinants of Pelvic organ prolapse. Institution based unmatched case control study will be conductedamong gynaecologic patients in Bahir Dar, North West Ethiopia ,betweenJune-September 2014 The study will include 372 women who will be selected from outpatient department of three hospitals in the study area. All women diagnosed as having POP stage 3or4 will be cases and women declared free of any stages of POP will be controls. Data will be collected by trained midwives I nurses using interviewer administered structured questioner. The data will be coded, entered, cleaned, and analyzed using Statistical Program for Social Science (SPSS) version 20.Descriptive, binary, multivariable and logistic regression analysis will be performed to assess association between dependent and independent variables. P­ value 20% (0.2) will be used to select factors for multivariate logistic regression. Differences will be considered statistically significant at P < 0.05, and its strength will be presented using odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (Cl). en_US
