dc.description.abstract he thesis assesses the influences of land fragmentation on irrigated agriculture, in two previously established irrigation schemes. The study has been earned out in Mccha worcda which is about 35 km for away from Bahirdar. Koga project is under construction. and irrigation farming is not yet stanlng, the construction will be accompllahcd on 2008, It is tnc first large scale irrigation scheme in the region. It wil I he managed PY formers and they will refund all cost in the long run. ~mall and subsistence farming arc the major activity like other parts of the courury where land frng111en1uliun might be the limitation for the successfulness of irrigation schemes. Dnh1 was collected from eighty-five target farmers living at sub kebele in Ambomesk kebelc and from previously established irrigation schemes.
