dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to assess challenges and prospect of physical education teachers and woreda or town sport office expertise task cohesion for the improvement of school sport in some selected woredas or towns of North Gondar zone.To do this a descriptive survey method was conducted. In this study 27physical education teachers, 13sport office expertise and 10 school principals were participated. The sample size of the study was selected by using purposive sampling methods. Besides this, adequate amount of data were collected by using multiple data collection tools. The data that was obtained from questionnaire, interview, and focus group discussion and observation checklist. Physical education teachers and woreda or town sport office expertise were used for the questionnaire and focus group discussion whereas school principals were for interview purpose finally observation checklist had done by the researcher twice. The obtained data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics analysis method which is frequency and percentage for a questionnaire. Interview, focus group discussion and observation checklist was described by qualitatively. Generally, the finding revealed that the relationship between physical education teachers and woreda sport expertise from the three selected woreda is less or there was no good task cohesion. In addition to this, lack of supervision and encouragement was seen from sport expertise due to this, the interaction between physical education teachers and sport expertise was little. In conclusion, the study showed that there is a problem of task cohesion between physical education teacher and sport expertise in the study area. Effective communication, responsibility and ownership, support and cooperation and common goals have positive contribution to enhance task cohesion between sport expertise and physical education teachers. Therefore to reduce the encountered problem recommendations were suggested by the researchers. en_US
