Abstract:
This study was conducted to the quality of physical education subject application on practical session of Antsokia Gemza secondary school. Descriptive survey study design was employed. The populations in the study were 364 students, 6 physical education teacher, 2 school principals, and 1 woreda education office head totally 373 who were participated as the population of the study. Questionnaire, interview and observation are the tools that used to data collection. Total 119 subject were selected by using non probable (purposive) sampling and simple random sampling (lottery) method. Out of 119 subjects 116 subjects were analyzed through questionnaire and 3 subjects were interviewing respectively. The data collected were analyzed from using questionnaires were interpreted and analyzed by tables, frequency and percentages quantitatively where as observational and interview data was analyzed qualitatively and the researcher was employed triangulation method of data analysis and interpretation. In analyzing data appropriately the finding of the research indicate that shortage of facility and equipment, curriculum materials, luck of intramural activity in the school, lack of school administrative support, inconvenient practical class schedule, less amount of period allotted for PE subject less motivation of teacher for students, large class size, less participation and lack sport wear of students, less convenient or inappropriate content for this grade level and lack of sport club in the school. In light of finding address by the researcher the recommendations forwarded so as to minimize the problem that difficult to the quality application of physical education practical session.
