Abstract:
The main purpose of this study was to explore the possible relationship between school
facility conditions and student academic achievement on EHEECE.. To this end, three
basic research questions were raised which focused on the condition of school facilities,
the status of students academic achievement, and the relationship between school
facilities and students academic achievement. The study employed both descriptive and
correlational design. The study population includes school principals, teachers and
students. School principals were selected through comprehensive sampling. While 77% of
sample teachers and 13% students were selected using stratified sampling. Open- and
Close-ended questionnaire, school observation and semi structured interviews were
instruments used to collect the required data. The obtained data was analyzed by SPSS-
16 using mean, standard deviation, one sample t-test and correlation. The findings of this
study revealed that, the instructional, recreational and general-purpose school facilities
were insufficient to run the teaching-learning process effectively, students have achieved
below the expected mean score on EHEECE and a significant relationship was observed
between school facilities and students academic achievement
