he - study initiated to explore the impact of literate student parents on Physical
Education (PE) practical class participation of students in preparatory schools of Awi
administrative zone. It attempted to assess literate parents' views about students teaching
PE practical class, literate parents' interest about students learning PE practical class,
Trends of literate parents' about student's assessment score sheet observation, the
students', response on selected parental attributes in regard to PE practical class
participation. To realize the purpose of the study, descriptive survey research design
employed. The total populations of the study were three preparatory schools, found in
Awi administrative zone. The study was carried out in 66 preparatory school student
literate parents; (LPSSP) (~elecied by purposive sampling technique), 66 preparatory
, school student.(PSS) (selected by availability sampling technique), 6 preparatory school
PE teachers (PST), 6 preparatory school administrators (PSA) selected using simple
random sampling techniques. Percentage, mean, standard deviation and word
description employed as statistical tools" to analyze the data. in addition, the data
- collection teals were questionnaire and focus group discussion .Based on the analysis; it
found that literate parents are interested about school physical education and co-
• curricular activity. physical education is an acceptable subject in school. parents did not

always observe students continuous assessment score sheet, parents support physical
education in school ho'wever parents think that physical education is less important for
intellectual development. Finally, the study recommended that Working cooperatively
with having good and continuance communication in between physical education
teachers and student parents is very important. Additionally, the school administration
and supervisors should take their responsibility in supporting and supervising the
practical class of physical educaion |
