Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of physical activity on the selected
psychological traits of U-20 female hand ball players in Filakit secondary and
·preparatory school. All of the members of the team (40 individuals) have been involved in
this research throughout the entire process. The study subjects were divided into two as
20 of them were experimental and 20 of them were control groups through simple
random sampling technique, Then as a part of pre test phase for each group motivation
inventory test and self-esteem inventory test were taken to evaluate their motivation and
self-esteem levels. The experimental group was received I 0 weeks of handball based
physical exercise training. Jn the same manner a post test was also taken from each
group. For this purpose certain basic questions were raised and to address the
formulated research questions, standardized questionnaires (motivation inventory test
and self-esteem inventory test) were used for data collection. To analyze the collected
data descriptive statistical analysis such as mean, mean difference, standard- deviation
and two tailed T- test were applied. The findings of the study clearly indicated that
physical exercise training specifically hand ball based training has a positive impact on
their motivation and self-esteem for Experimental Groups during a ten week intervention
program in the place mentioned above particularly. Therefore, it was concluded that
required physical activity training should be applied so as to bring about psychological
"trait improvements of female hand ball players.
