implementation was not interesting due to input related problems. The extent teachers applied activities
• •
of effeclive PE teacher was found sometimes. Students, teachers and school directors view that the
current time allocation for physical education is insufficient to cover the contents of PE textbook and to

provision of extra class activities only.for male students are some of the reflection and manifestation of
the status of school PE identified by this study. Moreover, this.study found that more than 88% of PE
equipment and facilitates which are expected to be available in schools didn't meet the standard set by
ANRSBOE for provision of quality PE in schools. Besides, the results indicated that 29. 9% of equipments
and facilities are totally unavailable in the preparatory schools of Awi Zone. The results indicated that
Physical Education haven 't favosable ground and supportive PE environment which lead to achievement
of educational objectives; PE in schools is in disarray, the quality of PE is under question that needs
