Abstract:
The construction industry in Ethiopia has under a poor record of stakeholder management during the past decades, and also the construction industry in water Works Corporation is not much integrated. So, there is a need to study and analyze stakeholders‘ needs, expectations, and their impact to manage the stakeholders in the process for the success of construction projects in water works corporation. The aim of this paper focuses on understand about stakeholder, their types, management process and their key contribution to the success of construction projects under study. This study has made use of a descriptive method research design. The target populations of this study are the project managers and engineers in the selected organizations who are working in water works corporation construction projects, and the sample size is calculated by using Godden‘s formula. The results of the survey showed contractors are considered the most important stakeholder. 64.8% of respondents agree that a contractor has a great involvement in the success of construction projects in water works corporation. As per the findings of the survey, identification of stakeholders having a percentage value of (29.5%) and implementation of stakeholder management strategy (22.7%) are construction stakeholder management processes considered by respondents as a highly effective construction project stakeholder management processes in the company. The results of the survey showed that contractors, project owner, project manager and consultants are considered the most important stakeholders in the success of construction projects in wwc. Stakeholder management processes are dependent on the project manager's experience, relationships, and capability. This research recommends for the company to assign a responsible body to follow up and monitor the project manager and its team. The company must crate adequate awareness about stakeholder management for the team members.
