Abstract:
The project intends on Ultraviolet- A (UV-A) distribution in Bahir Dar City (geographic latitude
110
36’N, longitude 370
23’E) and Ertale (geographic latitude 130
35’58.99’’ N, longitude
400
39’59.99’’E). UV-A has wavelength ranges from 315nm-400nm, In this study, satellite-based
data (from NASA) was used to study solar UV-A radiation in daily, monthly- annually, yearly
and seasonal variations in selected two places. The study period ranges from the beginning of
January 2011 until the end of December 2020 – ten years based study. The results indicate that
UV-A, in both places, is periodical–seasonal dependent within seasons and/or months. UV-A
radiation difference variation in two places based on altitude, latitude ozone layer cloud cover
and so on.The real data were described graphically using Origin plotting/software. The highest
and lowest UV-A at Bahir Dar City were 20.23w/m2
and 4.52w/m2
, on 3 May 2020 and 24 July
2016, respectively. On the other hand, the highest and lowest UV-A radiations at Ertale
19.36w/m2
and 3.06w/m2
, on 10 May 2020 and 6 August 20019, respectively.
