Duration of surgery with AOR and 95% CI 4.6(1.3-15.9)was found to show significant association with severe pain .that indicate odds of being in moderate to severe pain is 4.6x higher for those having duration of surgery >60min than those having less .No significant association was found between other independent variables.
• Conclusions and Recommendation: The management of post cesarean section pain in TGSH and FHCSH hospital is inadequate. demonstrated by all post op patients experience some degree of pain post op. Odds of being in moderate to severe pain is 4.6x higher for those having duration of surgery >60min than those having 40-60min and <40 min. So a unify pain management protocol is urgently needed to ensure safe practice . For surgeries which took long time consider analgesia before transfer the patient to the recovery or immediately at recovery.
