dc.description.abstract Background: Hepatitis B infection has been a major public health threat that affects nearly two billion people worldwide with 325 million chronic cases and more than 1.4 million deaths every year. Approximately two million health care workers globally each year are at risk of becoming infected with hepatitis B virus through their routine duties in their workplaces, and very few health care workers are vaccinated. Universal vaccination of health-care workers is an effective strategy to protect from hepatitis B infection en_US
