dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of logistics activities on performance of commercial banks of Ethiopia in Bahir Dar district. Logistics activities are very essential area of management operations within most industrial firms, whether they are manufacturing or service firms. Logistics activities are important because it creates value for customers and suppliers of the firm, and value for the firm’s stakeholders. This research conceptualizes and develops five logistics activities such as; customer service activities, inventory activities, transportation activities, packaging activities and purchasing activities. The study was supported by game theory, stochastic inventory theory, resource-based view theory and theory of constraint. The paradigm of the research was used positivist/quantitative research paradigm. This study working on both descriptive and inferential analysis based on the data collected. A descriptive research design was employed and used primary source of data. The Data was collected through questioner from 317 respondents in Bahir Dar district of 20 branches. Data was analyzed by the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26. Cronbach’s alpha was used to check reliability test. Bivariate Pearson Coefficient (r) statistics were applied for testing the correlation between dependent and independent variable. Linear regression model was applied, and multi co-linearity test, goodness of fit test were tested and finally Statistical analyses were performed with the data in order to test the five research hypotheses. The finding of this study indicates that, the customer service, inventory, and purchasing activities have significant effect and transportation and packaging activities have no significant effect on the organizational performance in Bahir Dar district bank branches. en_US
