dc.description.abstract This thesis describes about the application of intelligent control system (fuzzy logic control) on maximum power point tracking under partial shading conditions. Operating the PV system at/near Maximum power point is a critical task on the MPPT algorithm. A number of techniques have been proposed, among them classical techniques of perturb and observe (P&O) and incremental conductance (InCond) techniques are widely in use as accurate and less complex. However, steady-state oscillation, wrong perturbation direction for rapid climate change and failure to track the global peak under partial shade condition are some of the drawbacks. In this thesis fuzzy logic control based MPPT algorithm is proposed and designed for PV system under partial shade condition. For comparison purpose, incremental conductance (InCond) technique is also implemented. In this thesis, MATHLAB/Simulink software has been used to simulate the performance of the proposed controller and according to the simulations results of FLC has an efficiency value of 99.98% but the InCond has 94.78% , with the deviations values of FLC has < 1 but the InCond has higher deviation values of 6-28 and there is very low oscillations value of FLC with in the same range of the two controller 0.025 to 0.04 has a GMPPT with the a higher value of 629.5W but the classical one has a GMPPT with lower value of 595W The simulation results showed that fuzzy Logic control has fast dynamic performance with less oscillation and higher efficiency of trucking compared to the incremental conductance technique. Results revealed superior tracking capability of the proposed algorithms over classical techniques. en_US
