The purpose of this study was to investigate the Impact of Psychological skill training on selected psychological attributes of Debre Work ketema male football team. For this purpose initially one football team was selected purposely and then from these 24 male players was selected by using census/whole sampling method. Therefore, the total sample of the present study includes 24 male football players. Then, players were assigned randomly to experimental and control groups, each group had 12 subjects. The data were collected through a standard test. As a part of a pretest for each group trait, sport confidence inventory and situational motivation scale test were taken to measure self confidence and motivation level. The experimental group was given Eight week psychological intervention (goal setting, self talk, relaxation, Imagery and visualization). After eight weeks of psychological intervention a post test was also taken from each group. The collected data were analyzed quantitatively. SPSS version 23 software and independent sample t test and paired mean sample t test were used to compare the level of significance difference between groups and to compare the level of significance difference between pre and post test in each group. The present study indicated that as the result of psychological intervention there was statistically significant mean difference obtained between the experimental and control groups on self confidence and motivation numerically;8.35±3.98.And 17.00±4.38 between groups respectively |
